Title: Climate change shifting the goalposts for global sport

The Beijing Winter Games have made history by being held on 100% artificial snow. The 2022 FIFA World Cup in Doha, Qatar has temperature-controlled stadium, even if temperatures reach 30 degrees and 40 degrees the players can play in 21 degrees. Climate change has changed the norm in sport, through changes in venues due to warmer temperatures that affects the game. From the latest report from (IPCC), the sixth assessment states that without a doubt human activity causes climate change.
William Landman a professor in meteorology at University of Pretoria and specialist told DM 168, climate change may lead to having more heat and less rain. Thus, giving problems to people running marathons, on the other hand less water possible has an impact on all sports. Social choices are constrained due to persistent Greenhouse Gases (GHGs) emissions, Dr Pedro Monteiro Chief Oceanographer at CSIR stated.
