Gas investment and Powership Briefing
There has been a lot of information circulated about the #Karpowerships , because of this, last month we put together a short briefing note to cover some of the Risk Mitigation IPP Procurement Programme (RMI4P) issues too, and better alternatives. This briefing note also covers the message about treating natural gas investment with caution and the long term dangers of allowing powerships to be the entry point of gas in South Africa and the region.
An article has also been published in daily maverick by Civil society organisations are calling for financial institutions to publicly declare that they will not fund the Karpowership deal as it becomes clear that the project is risky and unviable.
