We are moving into the last segment of the EU funded SMART Citizens in Action project, which will draw to a close in October and there is quite a bit of excitement about seeing many of the project outputs coming together. The most recent milestone has been the completion of the documentary about the project which will be debuted at the launch of the project’s research project scheduled to take place in August!

The research report in question will provide a set of observations and recommendations that we will be presenting to the municipalities that we’ve worked with as part of this project. The primary aim of the report is to reflect the priorities that have emerged from the community engagement process that will have the most traction in terms of being able to reduce energy poverty.

Another key highlight over the past couple of months has been the finalisation of the project’s training manual. After over 40 workshops around the country the community engagement team has been able to distil the most pressing energy-related questions and answers into a single document which will not only serve as a training tool for the community leaders we have partnered with during this process, but will also feed into broader energy training being implemented by the partner municipalities.
