September is home to a special (South African) day – Heritage Day. On the 24th September all South Africans are encouraged to celebrate their culture and the diversity of their beliefs and traditions. Heritage Day, also known as ‘National Braai Day’, sparked the idea behind the campaign we are currently running. Our ‘low-carbon’ braai campaign ups the ante on the beloved braai. We are on the look out for fun, creative, delicious and innovative ways to have a braai that is also kinder to the planet. We will be posting tips and suggestions on our Facebook page up until Braai Day to offer ideas on how to get going with a ‘low-carbon’ braai. This will include recipe ideas, and better and more sustainable ways of procuring (another word possibly for procure) items for a braai. For our low-carbon braai campaign competition, we want you to share your low-carbon braai ideas (pics or videos and the inspiration behind your idea) with us on our Facebook page (tag us in your Facebook post @Project90by2030) or email us at natalie@90by2030.org.za. There are prizes on the line. We will be picking a winner for the low-carbon braai idea with the most number of people taking up the idea at their next braais  – as measured by the number likes and comments. Entries to the competition closes 25 September and the winner will be announced in early October. More info on our Facebook page: www.facebook.com/Project90by2030
