Three members of our Project 90 team, Daniel, Robert and Olivia, will be taking part in an endurance cycle challenge on Sunday 23 May to raise money for the Bicycle Empowerment Network (BEN). BEN is a not for profit organisation which aims to alleviate poverty through the promotion of bicycle use to enhance low-cost non-motorised transport, and improve health through linking exercise and mobility. Bicycles are also an excellent low-carbon means of getting around!

Funds raised from this event will be used directly towards delivering free bikes and training to impoverished communities across the
Western Cape.

The Project 90 team are a bit apprehensive as BEN’s website states that “It is a tough cycling event that will test the grit and mettle of any cyclist”. It goes on to say “The cyclists immediately ascend Red Hill, one of the steepest climbs in the Cape. This is a difficult climb that feels like it is never going to end”. Oh boy!

You can sponsor our cyclists for as little as R100 for this good cause.
